ketamine 14

[note: i don’t know if I just got off on my numbering, but i can’t find ketamine 15 – i’l just blame the ketamine ¯\_(?)_/¯ ]

to be honest i don’t remember much about this specific playlist – i’m having to listen to it again for the first time in nearly a year as i type this. looking at it again i can tell i was exploring long form instrumental pieces here – only 5 tracks but still 46 minutes! its a very melancholic mix and if memory serves me i went into this infusion with the weight of a lot of darkness and a feeling of loneliness which likely bled into the general tine of this mix

it has a lovely burbly electronic start with Max Cooper and then bleeds into the more melodic drones of the Alessandro Cortini’s second release using only the hyper-limited Buchla Music Easel. By this point in the mix i know I was pretty deep in the k-hole so the dusty instrumental ‘hymns’ of Stars of the Lid and then 18 minutes of very somber and dark looping melody from 36. i did apparently have the for thought to end on the Miya Folik’s ‘So Clear’ in hopes of pulling myself out of my own darkness…

I was down like you see in the movies
Crying on the bathroom floor
Blaming everybody around me
Hating myself more

I was desperate like you read in the paper
Screaming in oblivion
I was alone in a lonesome place 'til I finally said I'm done

10, 000 days of waking up
I pull myself out of the dust
I'm sun and sea
So suddenly
So clear to me, so clear to me

I was torn between two bad decisions
Standing on the side of the road
Looking in the eyes of a stranger
Who told me I'd be nothing alone

But I said no, no
Just watch me go

10, 000 days of waking up
I pull myself out of the dust
I'm sun and sea
So suddenly
So clear to me, so clear to me

10, 000 days of waking up
I pull myself out of the dust
I'm sun and sea
So suddenly
So clear to me, so clear to me

Also, sorry spotify nerds, the Cortini track is not available there; DO NOT miss out on this track and get a better streaming service – maybe one that doesn’t actively try to avoid paying artists a fare rate at the same time]
